The short answer
Drone Breach is a single-player first-person wave shooter for HTML5 browsers, built around five waves across two arenas: the Grand Library and the Tactical District. Players use one rifle, move between cover, time reloads, and clear each wave while managing fast enemies with imperfect aim. It is free, early in development, and best played on desktop with keyboard and mouse.
What is Drone Breach?
Drone Breach is a single-player first-person shooter built for HTML5 browsers by JohnJohnSummit. Its structure is deliberately compact: five waves, two arenas, and one rifle. Players choose between the Grand Library and the Tactical District, then hold their ground through the full wave count. The current build is an early playable release, v0.1.2, so the scope is a small evolving prototype rather than a finished campaign. It is free to play; optional donations support future updates but do not unlock additional content in this version. There is no multiplayer and no controller support. The goal is to clear all five waves while moving between cover, timing reloads, and keeping distance from fast enemies whose aim is imperfect. Both environments are playable. The game runs in the browser, and a downloadable edition is available as a fallback if mouse capture is blocked in Chrome or Edge.
How to play
Start by choosing Run game and then Deploy. Allow mouse capture when the browser prompts for it; the captured mouse handles aiming while WASD moves the player. If capture is blocked, movement still works, and Capture mouse can be clicked to retry. The objective is to clear all five waves in either the Grand Library or the Tactical District. Use cover, reload at the right moment, and keep distance from fast enemies with imperfect aim. The rifle is an instant-hit weapon with recoil and muzzle flashes. Right click aims through iron sights or a clear magnified scope. Best score and settings stay in the browser. Press Esc to release the mouse and pause. The current version is solo play with one rifle, no multiplayer, and no controller support, so the full run is keyboard and mouse.
Controls
Movement uses WASD. Looking and aiming come from the mouse after capture. Left click fires, right click aims, R reloads, Space jumps, holding C crouches, Shift sprints, M opens the tactical map, F toggles fullscreen, and P or Esc pauses. Esc also releases the captured mouse. The browser asks for mouse capture; allow it when prompted. If capture is blocked, movement still works, and players can click Capture mouse to retry. Chrome or Edge is recommended, and a graphics selector is available for better performance. The control set is keyboard and mouse only; no controller support is included in this version. The game recommends desktop play, and the fullscreen key makes the browser view fill the display. The pointer stays captured until Esc is pressed, which also pauses the run.
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| WASD | Move |
| Mouse | Look and aim |
| Left click | Fire |
| Right click | Aim |
| R | Reload |
| Space | Jump |
| Hold C | Crouch |
| Shift | Sprint |
| M | Open tactical map |
| F | Toggle fullscreen |
| P or Esc | Pause |
| Esc | Release captured mouse and pause |
Tips for your first run
Treat movement as part of the weapon. Enemies are fast but their aim is imperfect, so staying in motion and keeping distance helps more than standing still. Use cover between pushes, and time reloads rather than waiting too long. The rifle is instant-hit, so every trigger pull matters, and the recoil and muzzle flashes give each shot weight.
- Clear the five-wave count in the Grand Library or the Tactical District.
- Use right click for iron sights or the magnified scope when a shot needs more precision.
- Sprint with Shift when moving between cover, crouch with C, and jump with Space to reposition.
- Open the tactical map with M before committing to a crossing.
- If mouse capture fails, movement still works; click Capture mouse to retry, or use the downloadable edition in Chrome or Edge.
- Use the graphics selector if performance needs improvement.
Content and replayability
The current content set is five waves across two playable environments, the Grand Library and the Tactical District, with one rifle. There is no multiplayer and no controller support, so the loop is a solo run from the first wave to the fifth. Best score and settings stay in local browser storage, which gives repeat attempts a benchmark without requiring a game account. The build is an early playable release, v0.1.2, and the scope is a small evolving prototype. Optional donations support future updates, but they do not unlock additional content in this version. Replay value comes from learning both arenas, improving reload timing, and using cover and distance against fast enemies with imperfect aim. The two maps and five-wave structure are the full content set in this release; the game does not present a campaign, additional modes, or extra weapons.
Presentation and performance
Drone Breach is a 3D first-person shooter with two distinct environments: a grand library and an outdoor tactical district with bridges. The rifle uses instant-hit combat, recoil, and muzzle flashes, while aiming switches between iron sights and a clear magnified scope. Audio is synthesized for the project. The browser build supports fullscreen play with F, and a graphics selector is available when performance needs improvement. Chrome or Edge is recommended. If mouse capture is blocked, the downloadable edition in Chrome or Edge is the fallback. The game uses local browser storage for score and settings and does not require a game account. Visual credits include the Mixamo Soldier/Vanguard character and Poly Haven textures, with Three.js used for the build. The sound effects are original and synthesized. The current focus is the two arenas, the rifle, and the five-wave loop.
Who should play it
Drone Breach suits players who want a free, single-player browser shooter with a compact five-wave structure and two arenas to learn. It is built for keyboard and mouse on desktop, with no controller support and no multiplayer. The appeal is the moment-to-moment loop: move between cover, time reloads, keep distance from fast enemies with imperfect aim, and clear all five waves in the Grand Library or Tactical District. Players who enjoy score chasing can use the saved best score as a benchmark, and local browser storage keeps settings without a game account. This is an early playable release, v0.1.2, so it is best approached as a small evolving prototype rather than a finished campaign. Feedback and bug reports are invited in the comments. Optional donations support future updates but do not unlock extra content in this version. The game is free, and no account is required before a run.
