The short answer

Two plumbers, two boards, one goal: get water from the edge of the map to the town fountain before the other player does. Pipe Puzzle: Fountain Race runs entirely in a browser, needs no account inside the game, and offers bot duels or code-shared online matches across three difficulty settings.

What is Pipe Puzzle: Fountain Race?

Pipe Puzzle: Fountain Race is a competitive puzzle built around plumbing. Muzantip's game puts two plumbers in the same town and gives each one a private board to repair. The work is to rotate loose pipe segments until water can travel from the outer edge of the map to the fountain at the centre, while also completing whatever tasks the level sets. Whoever supplies their quarter first takes the race.

There are 33 towns to work through, and each arrives with its own fountain and scenery. The next map opens only after the previous town has been won, so campaign progress is tied to results rather than time spent. New pipe mechanics appear as the journey continues, and although every generated board carries a valid solution, there is room to find a personal route instead of the expected one.

Races run solo against a bot or online against a friend through a room code, with three difficulty settings chosen at the moment a race is created. The game is free and plays in a browser as an HTML5 build. It is marked as in development, with a publication date of 31 October 2026.

How to play

Everything starts in a lobby. Pick the bot option or create a room, then choose a town that has already been unlocked and a difficulty level. Inviting a friend means passing along the room code and letting them enter it; those rooms sit on the same server as the Igrodvor web edition. Language can be switched in the lobby before entering a room, with English, Russian and Simplified Chinese on offer.

Once a race begins, two boards are on screen. The highlighted one belongs to the player, while the other belongs to the opponent, who is repairing it at the same moment. Pipes are turned one at a time until they line up into a continuous channel. Water arrives from the outside edge and has to reach the town centre, so the route is built from the border inward.

Levels also carry special tasks that appear alongside the pipe work. Those objectives and the final outlet connection both need finishing before the timer expires. The first player to meet the requirements and feed their fountain wins the race.

Progress sits in a guest profile stored by the browser rather than behind a login. Clearing site data or disabling storage can make that progress temporary, and the guest profile is kept separate from an Igrodvor website account.

Controls

Input stays simple. A mouse click on a pipe rotates it, and a tap does the same job on a touchscreen. Repeat the action on the same piece to keep turning it until the alignment works.

Keyboard players get an alternative: Tab moves focus from pipe to pipe, and Enter or Space rotates whichever piece currently has focus.

Pausing depends on the mode. Bot games can be paused, while an online duel cannot be paused for both players, so a live race runs until someone finishes. Leaving a started race counts as a forfeit.

Tips for your first run

Start with the water rather than the pieces. Trace backwards from the fountain toward the outer edge to see which segments already point the right way, then turn only the pieces that break the chain. Because water always arrives from outside the map, the border is the natural place to begin tracing a full route. Keep the special tasks in view while doing this, since they sit alongside the outlet connection in the win condition.

The first few towns are the place to experiment. A bot match is the only kind that can be paused, which makes it the calmer setting for learning a pipe mechanic that has just appeared.

Expect a solvable board. Every generated layout has at least one valid solution, so a stubborn junction is usually a routing problem rather than a dead end, and an alternative path is often quicker than forcing the obvious one.

  • Read the level's special tasks before rotating anything, because objectives and the outlet both count toward the win.
  • Pick the difficulty when the race is created; the choice is made before the board appears.
  • Watch the timer as closely as the pipes, since objectives must be finished before it runs out.
  • Avoid opening an online duel if there is a chance of stepping away, as leaving a started race is a forfeit.
  • Try both boards' perspectives in a race; the opponent's visible layout shows how far their repair has gone.

Content and replayability

The campaign runs across 33 towns, each with a different fountain and its own scenery, and each one unlocks by winning the town before it. Pipe mechanics are introduced gradually, so the puzzle changes shape over the course of the run instead of asking for the same rotation trick from the first map to the last.

Three difficulty settings give a second reason to return to a town, and the board generator keeps layouts from repeating exactly. Every board can be solved, but more than one route usually works, which leaves room for faster or tidier solutions.

Campaign progress and a leaderboard sit behind the game server, which confirms results. The profile itself lives in the browser as a guest record, so it is worth keeping site storage intact. Support for English, Russian and Simplified Chinese widens the pool of people who can be challenged to a race.

Presentation and performance

The look is bright and two-dimensional, built around pipes, water and architecture that changes from town to town. Animated water runs through completed sections, fountains respond as the route comes together, and sound accompanies the moment a quarter comes back to life. Because every town carries its own scenery, the visual payoff shifts as the campaign moves forward.

It runs as an HTML5 game inside a browser, so there is nothing to install before the first race. An internet connection is required the whole time, including solo games against the bot, and online rooms are hosted on a shared server. Touch support means the same build works on phones and tablets as well as desktops.

Who should play it

This suits puzzle players who like a clock running in the background and a rival on the other side of the screen. Rotation puzzles are easy to explain and quick to start, so a race can be set up with a room code and a couple of choices. The colour and the growing towns give the campaign a reason to continue beyond a single match.

It also fits people who play on a touchscreen, since tapping a pipe does everything, and anyone who prefers keys can work through the same boards with Tab plus Enter or Space. Players who read English, Russian or Simplified Chinese can switch language before entering a room.

It is a poor fit for anyone who needs to play offline, because a connection is required even against the bot, and for players who might have to leave mid-match, since an online duel cannot be paused for both sides and walking away counts as a forfeit.
